I’m officially a resident of Nashville
March 6, 2008The last four weeks I’ve been living a gypsy life, staying in a temporary apartment paid for by my new employer. The 30 days are up this weekend and thankfully I managed to close on a place yesterday. So I now have a permanent address here in Nashville.
I’m still in the apartment though thru Saturday. That’s because none of my stuff is here yet. On Saturday the fine folks from PODS will drop off the small cube-shaped pod (their 8-foot size) where I stored most of my junk, like books and DVDs and clothes. Saturday is also when the movers arrive carrying the big stuff — floor rugs, furniture, the bed. And to make Saturday into a total circus, that’s also the day when H.H. Gregg is installing the new refrigerator and washer/dryer units.
It’s going to be a madhouse I expect. But hopefully I’ll make it thru, and by sometime Sunday the house should be in semi-decent shape.
