What I like about McCarron
March 11, 2008I’m in Las Vegas this week, I’ve just arrived at the McCarron International Airport. My Mom’s flight arrives about an hour after mine, so I’m sitting here in the baggage area using the free WiFi service. Which is the thing I like most about McCarron.
Of course there’s other things to like about the airport, such as the fact it’s so close to the Strip. It’s maybe a ten minute cab ride, though this trip since my Mom and her niece are here I’ve rented a car so I’ll be driving rather than cabbing.
There’s also the tackiness — the minute you get off the plane, there are slot machines littered throughout the terminal. I love that about this airport, it’s so unapologetic about why you’re here. If they only had half-naked showgirls wandering around it would complete the effect but I suppose that might shock the sensibilities too much of some people stepping into this town for the first time.
